What's the conservation status of Skretting's marine ingredients?
Skretting does a significant amount of work to ensure that all our ingredients are procured in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We annually publish the species of origin and conservation status of our marine ingredients from both reduction and trimmings sources. You can review these figures in our latest sustainability report (2016).

The Peruvian anchovy fishery recently entered a comprehensive fishery improvement project (FIP), subsequently all anchovy derived from this Peruvian reduction fishery source is now ASC compliant. A fishery improvement project is a comprehensive multi-stakeholder effort to improve the sustainability of a fishery. Skretting is an active player in this FIP with a position on the steering committee. This project was a significant achievement for the sustainability of our supply chain, as we rely on a significant amount of our fishmeal and fish oil coming from this fishery source. The Peruvian fishery will be benchmarked against the (Marine Stewardship Council) MSC standard identifying gaps that need to be closed. The overall objective of the Peruvian FIP will be that the fishery is MSC certified at the end of the project (3-5 years).
