Is eating farmed fish healthy?

Yes, eating farmed fish is healthy. Farmed fish, like all fish, is a good source of marine omega-3, and is one of the few sources that we routinely eat in Australia.

Marine omega-3 aids cardiovascular health and brain development and learning in children, while also helping to maintain cognitive function in later life.

Fish is more than just omega-3; it supplies a large range of nutrients such as protein, minerals and vitamins.

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) suggest that eating more than two meals of fish per week decreases the risk of dementia, cardiovascular disease and strokes.
