Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight, design and delivery of engineering projects within the Vancouver manufacturing facility. As the Mechanical Engineer, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Manage multiple capex projects simultaneously
  • Design
  • Project execution
  • Budget control
  • Oversee Plant Control System improvements and functionality
  • Review and provide recommendations for process improvements
  • Create, update and maintain all plant drawings in AutoCad (2D)
  • Manage sustainability improvement initiatives
  • Performance evaluation of equipment/processes
  • Ensure all upgrades/projects are completed with removal of old equipment and wiring and updated drawings
  • Participate in Skretting Global Technical Network including various projects

 

Qualifications:

  • P. Eng in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing including process improvements and fluid engineering
  • Extensive project management experience – this will be focus
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD/CAM
  • General knowledge of Automation and Electrical
  • Energy and Water conservation – Sustainability
  • Proven list of established contractors and suppliers from previous projects
  • Excellent communication skills building relationships with production and maintenance staff
  • Ability to see potential improvements “around” existing equipment – creativity
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptable and flexible to a changing environment
