Skretting Aquaculture Research Centre

Where science meets industry

Skretting Aquaculture Research Centre (ARC) is the global research organisation for Skretting. For more than a quarter of a century, ARC’s large, industry-leading team of scientists and experts specialising in fish and shrimp nutrition and health as well as feed production technology has been delivering innovations that define and support the progress of aquaculture.

Our research focus

Utilising new functional ingredients and methodologies to advance fish and shrimp well being

Identifying and fulfilling the dietary needs of fish and shrimp species in a sustainable manner, with a strong focus on maximising performance

Feed production

Increasing the raw material flexibility and functionality of our diets through new technologies and ingredients

Innovation process

Idea gathering

The pairing of our global presence and local market insights enable us to prioritise research that best fulfils the specific requirements of our customers as well as the broader needs of the aquaculture industry

Every concept we develop undergoes a comprehensive performance evaluation and accredited trial process

Our prototype formulations are subject to large scale testing in commercial environments to verify whether they can perform as intended when introduced to customers' production systems

New feed solution

Collating the findings of our research, all products are appraised to establish if they can be further improved upon and applied to other species and markets

Follow up

Regular consultation with customers ensures our products consistently meet commercial expectations. In addition, our AquaSim management tools help them to optimise farm performance

Our innovations

is our functional feed for farmed fish that helps shield skin, gut and gills. It also supports the immune system, provides the building blocks for new cells and optimises the balance between fish, microbes and environment.

contains metabolic activators that stimulate fish metabolism and energy utilisation. The metabolic activators help reduce visceral fat, providing higher slaughter yields, with larger fillets and higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids

is an effective and efficient technology for ensuring quality control. Near-infrared reflectance (NIR) calibrations have been established for most of the raw materials that we source
