FAO's latest "The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture" reports and the United Nations Global Compact's Ocean Stewardship 2030 state that sustainable seafood production depends on industry transparency to avoid negative environmental and social impacts. At the same time, they point out that strengthening trust between the different actors in the value chain is an important challenge to be addressed.
This background helps explain why we have defined Transparency and Trust as a new pillar for Skretting. Not only does it allow us to be more direct about what we stand for and what we contribute to the seafood value chain. It also helps us simplify the message regarding what we do in sustainability and food quality and safety through Nuterra and Nutrace, the two strong internal programs that are the foundation for building a concrete position as a transparent and trustworthy company.
As well as showing that we have our own house in order and do business with integrity, being transparent also helps us to reduce risk to our reputation and build trust in Skretting as the leading partner to drive the journey towards a more sustainable industry. as we have stated in our previous Sustainability Report. In addition, we see that our commitment to transparency and trust also helps us attract and retain talented people who are eager to work for a responsible company that cares about generating a positive environmental and social impact.
