About Skretting

SSkretting statisticskretting is the aquaculture division of Nutreco which has its head office in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Nutreco is owned by SHV Holdings, a privately owned Dutch trading company, regarded as one of the world’s largest private trading groups. SHV is a highly diversified company, with interests in transport, retail, oil, food and financial services. It currently employs around 47,000 people.

Skretting is the global leader in providing innovative and sustainable nutritional solutions for the aquaculture industry.

 

Skretting has production facilities in 19 countries, and its 3,500 employees manufacture and deliver high quality feeds from hatching to harvest for more than 60 species.

The head office is located in Stavanger, Norway.

In 2018, Skretting produced 2.3 million tonnes of aquaculture feeds. Sales were the highest in Europe and Americas. The turnover for the Skretting Division in 2018 was 2.5 billion euros.

Skretting is the world leader in the manufacture and supply of innovative nutritional solutions and services for aquaculture, making us an essential link in the feed-to-food chain. We apply our knowledge of ingredients and the nutritional needs of fish and shrimp to develop innovations that achieve optimum nutritional value, sustainable production and economic performance as we seek to fulfil our company-wide mission of ‘Feeding the Future’.

Our mission is based on the challenge of feeding a global population that’s forecast to reach 9.5 billion people by 2050. The fast-growing world population, increased urbanisation, a growing middle class and changing diets will lead to a surge in demand for protein, especially in emerging markets. Our ambition is to contribute to meeting the rising food needs in a sustainable manner. We will do this by constantly seeking innovative ways to raise the efficiency and nutritional value of our products, the productivity of our activities and those of our customers, and to reduce the environmental impact of our value chains. Sustainability is in the nature of our business.
