Skretting Australia is aware of social media posts and allegations made by a former employee.

We recognise that the images in the post are concerning when viewed without the correct context and facts. In this case, the product identified in the post had developed mould during storage and was contained during the intake process, before any related post appeared on social media. The product remains isolated, awaiting disposal, and it was not, and will not be, incorporated into feed production. There is no food safety risk and no fish will consume this feed.

Feed safety, product quality and fish health are fundamental to Skretting Australia. Our robust HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system-based quality, feed safety and biosecurity systems include strict controls for the inspection and assessment of incoming materials prior to their use. These systems are externally certified to HACCP, ISO 9001 and FeedSafe standards and are regularly independently audited. Our management controls through these systems require any product or material identified as unsuitable or not meeting specification, such as mouldy material as pictured in the post, to be segregated and prevented from entering feed production, as happened in this case.
