On 16 October, Skretting moved AquaSim - its suite of digital tools to optimise aquaculture - live to the cloud with Microsoft Azure. Skretting has been supporting aquaculture producers all around the world for decades with a unique digital toolkit providing actionable insight for farmers seeking to optimise performance and differentiate themselves in the market. The move to the cloud will future-proof these services and ensure they become faster, more agile and more reliable.

Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing service for building, testing, deploying and managing applications and services. Azure is a fast-growing environment that supports a wide range of tools and frameworks, both Microsoft-specific and third-party software and systems.

“Being on a modern cloud platform allows us to make the most of tools and services offered by Microsoft,” says Kristoffer Tveit, Product Department Manager at Skretting. “This opens up new and exciting roads on our digital journey. However, the key impact for us is on our improved customer experience. We are thrilled to be working with such an innovative and cutting-edge partner.”

Beyond any commercial strategy and the use of cutting-edge technologies, what we deliver is the commitment and constant support that allows our customers to execute the best strategies, in a sustainable way.

Fuelling the future

Skretting’s AquaSim optimises data provided by a plethora of IOT devices. Although the acquisition and use of common technology is not necessarily an achievementthe added value lies in the ability to deliver a correct reading of data that allows Skretting to provide comprehensive advice to customers.

Skretting is committed to leading digitalisation of the aquaculture industry, using a combination of investment and existing tools to optimise farming production and therefore product efficiency. Global networks ensure that knowledge and best practice is shared.

“Beyond any commercial strategy and the use of cutting-edge technologies, what we deliver is the commitment and constant support that allows our customers to execute the best strategies, in a sustainable way,” says Tveit.
