Skretting Marine Hatchery Feeds has recently launched its brand new Vitalis 2.5 broodstock diet for shrimp which provides specific nutrition and biosecurity for egg and nauplii production.

“Shrimp broodstock nutrition is usually based on feeding fresh feed which has a large biosecurity risk. We have thus produced an industrial diet which would specifically be designed to meet their nutritional requirements but also remove the biosecurity risk. Our Vitalis 2.5 broodstock diet proved to be successful as results from trials we performed in South America all showed fantastic results on egg production, number of copulating couples, hatch rates and number of eggs per female. Moreover, water quality stayed much better and hatcheries could reduce water usage which massively contributed to lower biosecurity risks” says Eamonn O’Brien, Product Manager Skretting Marine Hatchery Feeds.
