Our role in aquaculture
Feed sits at an important point in the aquaculture value chain, connecting diverse ingredient supply chains with the production of fish and shrimp for food. Skretting brings together expertise in nutrition, ingredients, feed production, research and services to support producers and contribute to the continued development of aquaculture. Through the choices we make and the partnerships we build, we can help improve how resources are used, how animals are cared for and how farms perform.
Working across the aquaculture value chain
Our role begins with assessing and approving ingredients and suppliers. It continues through feed formulation and manufacturing, quality and safety controls, and technical support for producers. We also work closely with suppliers, producers, researchers and other partners to share knowledge, strengthen practices and address environmental, social and animal-welfare challenges across the aquaculture value chain.
Sustainability is part of how we work across the aquaculture value chain. Our sustainability strategy sets out the priorities and targets that guide our actions, while our responsible sourcing approach explains how we assess suppliers and raw materials and manage environmental and social considerations in different ingredient supply chains. We report on our progress and remaining challenges through our annual Impact Report.
Research and innovation in aquafeeds
Research and innovation strengthen our contribution to aquaculture by turning scientific knowledge and practical experience into new and improved solutions. Together with customers, researchers and other partners, we develop, test and validate feeds, services and tools that respond to the needs of different species, life stages and production systems.
