Suzanne Njeri, President of the Association of Women in Fisheries Blue Economy Kenya (AFWBEK)

A leading African voice in sustainable aquaculture, working at the intersection of food systems, livelihoods, and women’s economic empowerment. She is widely recognised for building inclusive aquaculture models that connect farmers to markets, strengthen value chains, and expand opportunity for women and youth across Africa.

Suzanne serves as President of the Association of Women in Fisheries Blue Economy Kenya (AFWBEK) and is the former First Vice President of AWFishNet-African Women Fish Traders and Processors Network, where she championed the participation of women in the rapidly growing blue economy. Her leadership is helping shape a more inclusive aquaculture sector capable of meeting Africa’s rising demand for affordable protein.

She is also CEO of the Commercial Aquaculture Society of Kenya (CASK), representing commercial fish farmers and advancing production, standards, and market access, and Secretary General of AWARFA-N Kenya, promoting agribusiness development across animal-resource value chains.
