AquaVision 2026 – Guiding aquaculture through change

Former US Secretary of State Antony Blinken

The 16th edition of AquaVision will take place in Stavanger, Norway from 8-10 June 2026. Hosted by Skretting and its parent company Nutreco, the biennial aquaculture business conference brings together global leaders to discuss the role of sustainable blue food in feeding a growing world population.

About AquaVision 2026

The two key themes that will be explored at AquaVision 2026 are:

  • Navigating the global geopolitical landscape: Impacts and opportunities for the aquaculture industry
  • Beyond tomorrow: Pioneering innovations shaping the future of the industry

In a world increasingly shaped by geopolitical uncertainty, shifting alliances, and regulatory complexity, businesses must stay agile in order to thrive. Through renowned experts bringing their perspectives from different regions, at AquaVision 2026 we will explore how the global geopolitical climate is influencing economic landscapes, international trade, supply chain resilience, and consumer behaviour in the aquaculture sector, as well as other industries.

At the same time, aquaculture needs to embrace the technological advancements that will shape its future: From breakthroughs in biology and engineering, to artificial intelligence and data-driven precision farming. Drawing inspiration from within and beyond the sector, we will encounter disruptive new ideas that have the potential to unlock greater efficiency, resilience and profitability

A tradition of thought leadership

With geopolitics and innovation shaping the agenda, we are delighted to announce that the keynote speaker for AquaVision 2026 is Antony J. Blinken, former United States Secretary of State from January 2021 to January 2025.

Blinken has worked closely with Presidents Clinton, Obama, and Biden in senior roles. A seasoned diplomat and foreign policy expert, Blinken’s career has spanned decades, marked by his commitment to restoring alliances, and promoting diplomacy as the cornerstone of international relations.

In today’s turbulent environment, Blinken’s insights based on his extensive experience in foreign policy and diplomacy will help AquaVision 2026 participants better understand the global forces shaping our industry.

Alongside Blinken, AquaVision 2026 will convene leading experts from Latin and North America, Asia, Europe, and Africa to provide insights into how current geopolitical dynamics are impacting regions globally, alongside aquaculture industry leaders who will discuss how they are adapting and strengthening resilience within their organisations.

Throughout AquaVision history, the event has been graced by distinguished and internationally renowned speakers, providing their unique insights on topics that are highly relevant to aquaculture’s top decision-makers. Previous keynote speakers have included Paul Krugman, Joseph Stiglitz, Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-moon.

“With AquaVision, Skretting and Nutreco are providing an arena for the aquaculture and food industries to build connections, hear diverse perspectives, and address shared challenges. We must remain agile – navigating global politics, keeping pace with technologies such as AI, and responding swiftly to shifting regulations and market expectations particularly on sustainability,” says Maarten Bijl, CEO of Skretting. “Striking the right balance between speed, collaboration, and scientific credibility is how the industry will ride the next wave and emerge stronger together. I look forward to AquaVision 2026, and seeing how we can collectively drive sustainable growth for the future of aquaculture.”
