Hiroaki (Hiro) Ishimoto is a Department General Manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Food Division, Aquaculture & Nutrition Project Division, based in Tokyo. He brings nearly a decade of experience advising on and leading projects across the aquaculture, agriculture, agri-/aqua‑technology, food service, and retail sectors.
In his current role, Hiroaki is primarily responsible for strategy development and new business creation in Mitsui’s aquaculture and nutrition platform.
Mitsui has built a strong global network in the aquaculture industry, with a particular focus on salmon and shrimp, partnering with leading producers such as Santa Priscila (Ecuador) and Minh Phu (Vietnam) in shrimp, and Multi X (Chile) in salmon.
Mitsui continues to strengthen its aquaculture and seafood business by expanding partnerships and initiatives across the entire value chain, from upstream production to downstream distribution.
Hiroaki firmly believes in the long‑term potential of the aquaculture industry and remains actively committed to contributing to its sustainable growth and development.
