The following section is in English, as we share our Code of Conduct with our Dutch parent company Nutreco and for the convenience of all our international business partners.

The tables below are documentation for those who would like to assess Skretting Norway’s compliance as a supplier in accordance with the Norwegian Transparency Act (Åpenhetsloven). Please note that our official policy is outlined in our (internal) Code of Conduct and our Code of Conduct for business partners.

Skretting aims to combine profitable growth with sustainability, focusing on responsible resource management.

Our ambition is to make a positive and lasting impact on human rights, labor rights, and environmental protection, both internally in our organization as well as with our suppliers and partners. An important part of this work is to ensure that the goods and services we purchase are produced/ provided in compliance with our Business Code of Conduct for Business Partners and the internal program Nutrace for quality, which set the standards in feed to food quality and safety.

We aim to position Skretting as a transparent and trustworthy company and demonstrate that we care about making a positive environmental and social impact.

1. General on governance

Skretting Norway is aware of all laws and regulations that apply to us. Skretting Norway is not subject to a regulatory or criminal investigation.

Skretting Norway uses the Landax system to keep track of current laws and regulations.

2. Code of conduct

Skretting Norway’s (internal) Code of Conduct and our Code of Conduct for business partners are shared with our Dutch parent company Nutreco. They are both based on internationally recognized standards, such as OECD, UN and ILO conventions.

3. Quality management system

Skretting Norway has a quality management system (QMS) and the internal program Nutrace for quality, which set the standards in feed to food quality and safety. We have in addition implemented several international certifications, systems and internal procedures in our factories. At regular intervals these standards are checked and revised by independent third-party bodies, our customers and parent company Nutreco

4. Third party certifications

NS-EN ISO 9001:2015, Global G.A.P. - GGN number: 4050373823641, Global G.A.P. non-gm/ "Ohne gentechnik" add-on, Global G.A.P. - GGN number: 4052852471015, og DEBIO. We also follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP). We became BAP certified in Q1 2023, and the ASC feed standard went into effect January 2023 with an implementation period of two years, something we are ready for and the audit is expected to be carried out fall 2024.

5. Reporting incidents

Skretting Norway reports incidents/ non-conformities and completes incident/ non-conformity investigation/ handling including incidents related to health and safety plus environmental incidents and accidental discharges.

7. Anti-corruption

Skretting Norway has established policies and guidelines on anti-corruption. To the best of our knowledge, Skretting Norway has never been under investigation for, or convicted of, corruption.

13. Safe working conditions and wages

Skretting Norway has established a process for ensuring that our suppliers provide safe working conditions to their employees and workers as well wages that are no lower than the national minimum wage for the country in question or the industry standard the particular industry.

14. Social standards

Skretting Norway require of our business partners compliance with social standards that are at the same level as those required of our own company.

15. Violations on human rights and indecent working conditions

Skretting Norway has not discovered human rights violations or indecent working conditions in the supply chain.

 

16. Anti-competitive policies for business partners

Our business partners shall compete fairly and comply with antitrust and competition laws in the countries in which they operate. Business partners shall not make agreements or engage in practices that are illegal, such as price-fixing, market allocation or abuse of a dominant position.

Our business partners shall not be involved in any form of bribery, kickbacks or facilitation payments. business partners are expected to observe Nutreco's standards concerning gifts and hospitality involving employees and representatives as included in our Code of Conduct for Employees.

Environmental sustainability

18. Sustainability strategy and targets

Our parent company Nutreco has developed a sustainability strategy and defined sustainability targets with deadlines which also applies to Skretting Norway. Through our parent company Nutreco, Skretting has committed to the science-based target initiative (SBTi) with a 30 % reduction of CO2eq for scope 1 and 2, and a 39 % reduction for scope 3 towards 2030 with 2018 as the baseline year.

26. Freedom of association

Skretting Norway’s workers and employees have the right to freedom of association (they have the right to organize to defend their interests).

Skretting Norway has an established channel for whistle-blowing which will notify our owner SHV through Speak Up online.

29. Written employment contracts

In Skretting Norway all employees have written employment contracts.

 

30. Employees under the age of 18

Skretting Norway conduct risk assessments of employees under the age of 18. We do not employ anyone under the age of 15

 

31. Forced labor

There have not been instances of forced labor among employees or contractors in Skretting Norway ever (at least to our knowledge as Skretting Norway is a company with 124 years of history, and we are not familiar that there has been instances of forced labor throughout our long history, but we can not guarantee that it has never happened in any form.)

 

We have global employment guidelines to ensure that all Nutreco employees work for us of their own free will. To ensure this, we have our own program for "whistleblowing" which will notify our owner SHV through Speak Up online.

32. Union representatives

In Skretting Norway all employees are free to choose union representatives or representatives without interference from the company management.

33. Physical punishment or violent incidents

To the best of our knowledge, there has not been any reports of physical punishment or violent incidents in Skretting Norway.

 

34. Vacation policies

Skretting Norway has policies that ensure vacation and leave for employees entitled who are legally entitled to it.

 

35. Maximum number of allowed working hours

Skretting Norway follows the maximum number of allowed working hours for employees according to national laws and regulations in accordance with ILO conventions. There has not been any violations of this in the past twelve months.

 

36. Human rights violations or indecent working conditions

To the best of our knowledge, Skretting Norway has never been under investigation for  human rights violations or unsafe working conditions .

Our guidelines, practices, and expectations for occupational health and safety are regularly communicated to employees and suppliers in a language they understand?

Skretting Norway has audits of our own occupational health and safety practices by Næringslivets Sikkerhetsorganisasjon (NSO).
